So Much To Be Grateful For

If I could sum up the past year in one word, it would be "GRATEFUL". Grateful for new friendships, new fans and new opportunities. Grateful for family, friends and supporters that have stood behind me through it all, supporting every step of my journey. Grateful that I’m able to wake up every morning knowing that my goal is to further my skills, knowledge and craft to become the best version of myself as a singer/songwriter.

From the girl who once believed that she "didn’t have what it takes to make it in music", I transitioned into the girl who believed that "anything is possible". A dream is a wish the heart makes, and my heart wanted nothing more than to make music my life. When I made that decision, I was prepared to work hard and knew that I'd get a lot of no's before getting a single yes. I knew that as an indie artist, it was going to be a tough go, especially from a financial standpoint. BUT . . . I was willing to take on that challenge. My passion was going to see me through it all.

I'd be lying if I said that there weren't days that I wanted to throw in the towel. Days when money got tight and my faith wore thin. But I was raised with a strong mindset, and a personality that refused to give up easily on anything I truly believed in. That mindset and a lot of unsung hours led me to a place I only ever imagined possible. A Summer filled with incredible shows, including sharing the Main Stage with Florida Georgia Line. (was this really my life!?!) Unbelievably talented band mates who joined my team, and venues/talent buyers who believed in and appreciated us. A team of "Earth Angels" who helped to lift me up and who made so many of these opportunities possible . . . and of course the believers who have been there from Day 1.

Thank you just doesn't cut it.

Honestly, I couldn't do what I love without the support from EVERY SINGLE ONE of you! I want to make a difference and leave my mark on this world. I believe that music is a powerful tool for me to do just that. Moving forward, there are still a couple of surprises coming from my "That's Country Y'all" album, but I'm also writing up a storm so I can bring you some new music.

I'm excited for the future, and I'm excited to have you along for the ride!

Love, Riki!
